Stamping Parts and Pressed Steel Components
Stamped and pressed parts are formed from sheet or strip steel in a die — a bracket, a base plate, a spacer or a connector piece, with the holes and bends built into the tool rather than machined part by part. We make them from the customer’s drawing: tooling, forming, welding where it is needed, and the coating, all in one process chain.

Where pressed and stamped parts are used
- Metro and tunnel works: cable brackets, duct supports and fixing plates for services
- Sound barriers and curtain wall: connection plates, shims and packing pieces
- Utility tunnels and pipe racks: saddle plates, clamps and supports
- Equipment and plant: base plates, anchor plates, guards and covers
- General fabrication: washer plates, spacers and non-standard blanks
Typical specification range
| Item | Range / options |
|---|---|
| Material | Carbon steel such as Q235B or Q355B, or stainless steel on request |
| Thickness | Thin gauge up to heavy plate, depending on the part and the press available |
| Processes | Blanking, punching, bending, drawing, trimming, and welding of welded assemblies |
| Tooling | Simple and compound dies made for the part; tooling cost quoted separately when a die has to be made |
| Surface | Hot-dip galvanized, Dacromet, powder coated, phosphated, or bare for further processing |
| Tolerance | To drawing; critical dimensions confirmed on a first-article sample before the batch runs |
| Packing | Bags, cartons or pallets; parts can be bagged by count or assembled as a project set |
Design points that decide the price
- Hole distance from the bend line. A hole close to a bend distorts while forming. Moving it clear of the bend, or punching after bending, is usually cheaper than accepting a high reject rate.
- Bend radius against material thickness. A radius that is very tight for the grade and thickness risks cracking, particularly in higher-strength steel.
- Springback. The formed angle springs back when the tool releases, so the die has to allow for it. This is one reason a first article is checked before the batch is released.
- Minimum flange height. A flange shorter than roughly a few times the material thickness is difficult to form reliably.
- Standard material where possible. Common grades and thicknesses are stocked, so they are faster and cheaper than specials.
What to send for a quotation
- Drawing in PDF or DWG, with material, thickness, tolerance and surface finish
- Quantity per order and per year, and whether the part repeats
- Whether tooling already exists or a die has to be made
- Coating and packing requirements

FAQ
- What is the minimum order quantity for a stamped part?
- It depends on two things: whether a die has to be made, and whether the material is a stock thickness. If the tooling already exists, quantities can be much lower than for a brand new part. Send the drawing and the quantity you expect and we will quote the applicable minimum.
- Can you make the tooling as well as the parts?
- Yes. Dies for blanking, punching and forming are made for the part, and the tooling cost is quoted separately so you can see what is a one-off and what is a piece price.
- How do you control the first part before the batch?
- The first article is measured against the drawing, including the dimensions that affect how the part fits. Production only continues once the sample is confirmed — either by us against the drawing, or by you if you ask to approve the sample.
- Can the coating be applied before delivery?
- Yes. Hot-dip galvanizing, Dacromet, phosphating and powder coating are carried out in our own process chain, so coated parts arrive ready to install rather than being sent out and re-packed.
